Magnific AI review

Magnific is known for its generative image upscaler. Its pricing page, titled “Magnific (formerly Freepik)”, now sells three individual plans that bundle upscalers, image, video and audio models, and stock assets: Premium, Premium+ and Pro Starter. In a Netherlands session on 29 Sep 2026 they showed EUR 12, 27 and 66 a month billed annually (EUR 16, 36 and 88 monthly), with credits issued as a yearly pool. If you only want to upscale the odd image, check whether the free options are enough before paying for a bundle.

Credits are valid for one year with no monthly reset, and the page says top-ups can be bought at any time. The annual saving is 25 percent, as the page states.

Who it suits, who should skip

  • Suits creators who want upscaling plus image and video models under one subscription and can use a large yearly credit pool.
  • Skip the bundle if you need one thing: a pay-per-use upscaler avoids paying for stock and video credits you may not use.
  • Compare generation-only tools such as Krea AI and FLUX.1.

What this page cannot tell you

How faithful or inventive the upscaling is, and how it compares with other upscalers, is not on a pricing page and we have not judged it. The “formerly Freepik” wording needs care: the company behind Freepik did not disappear, it changed its public name. Freepik announced on 28 April 2026 that it was rebranding as Magnific, one name for the stock library and for the Magnific upscaler it acquired in May 2024, per The Next Web’s report. The pricing page title and tab therefore read “Magnific (formerly Freepik)”. We could not confirm from the vendor whether the freepik.com domain remains in use, so no claim is made about it.

Method

Researched from Magnific’s pricing page, read 29 Sep 2026 in a browser session. Prices are euros as displayed (a US-side fetch of the page also returned euro figures, and the page says prices exclude VAT and local taxes; we found no dollar edition). Cost per credit and per clip are our arithmetic. Nothing here comes from using the product.

Update log

  1. Rewritten from Magnific's pricing page: removed 'best image upscaler available', 'essential for printing' and the old table; the page is now titled 'Magnific (formerly Freepik)' and sells yearly credit plans that also cover stock content and AI video; added cost per credit and per clip.
  2. Audit: 'formerly Freepik' worded from the 28 Apr 2026 rebrand report; euro-only pricing noted.
