QuillBot is a paraphrasing and writing suite with a grammar checker, AI detector, humaniser, summariser and citation generator. Its Premium page on 29 Sep 2026 (Netherlands session) showed Free at EUR 0 and Premium at EUR 8.33 a month billed annually, with a “58% off” label; there is also a Team plan without a public price. The catch is Free: paraphrasing stops at 100 words and two modes, so anything longer needs Premium. In US dollars, QuillBot’s own price FAQ gives Premium as $8.33 a month billed annually ($99.95 a year), $19.95 monthly, and $13.31 a month on a plan it labels semi-annual but describes as $39.95 billed every 3 months.

Our arithmetic: 8.33 a month is about 100 a year in either currency; monthly billing at $19.95 is $239.40 a year, so annual saves about 58 percent, matching the page’s “58% off” label. All Premium plans include the paraphraser, grammar checker, plagiarism checker, AI detector, humaniser and summariser, plus browser extensions and apps for Chrome, Edge, macOS, Word, Android and iOS.

Who it suits, who should skip

  • Suits students and writers who rewrite or condense text often and want one subscription across paraphrasing, grammar and citations.
  • Skip if you write in English and only want grammar fixes: the free tier already fixes basic errors, and Grammarly is the more common choice for that job.
  • Skip the AI detector and humaniser as proof of anything: the page does not state their accuracy, and we have not assessed it.

What this page cannot tell you

How natural the paraphrases read, or how reliable the detector is, is not on the page and we have not measured it. Earlier text called it the best paraphraser and said seven modes; we could not source either.

Method

Researched from QuillBot’s Premium page, read 29 Sep 2026 in a browser session. The Premium page showed euros to a Dutch visitor; US dollar prices come from QuillBot’s own price FAQ (quillbot.com/blog/frequently-asked-questions/how-much-is-quillbot-premium/). Nothing here comes from using the product.

Update log

  1. Rewritten from QuillBot's Premium page: removed 'best paraphrasing tool', 'essential for non-native speakers' and the old seven-mode claim (the page now lists two modes free, nine built-in modes plus custom modes on Premium); added a Free versus Premium limits table.
  2. Audit: added US dollar prices from QuillBot's own price FAQ ($8.33 annual, $19.95 monthly, $13.31 on the 3-month plan).
