Rytr review

Rytr is a low-cost AI writer with template-style use cases (email, SEO meta titles, captions). Its pricing page (29 Sep 2026, USD) shows Free at $0 with 10,000 characters a month, Unlimited at $7.50 a month with unlimited generation, and Premium at $24.16 a month for multiple brands. The page labels the yearly option “get 2 months free” and the monthly option “cancel anytime”, and the prices did not change when we toggled. They are the yearly-equivalent rates: $7.50 and $24.16 a month are $90 and $290 a year, which is exactly ten months of $9 and $29 (the “2 months free” wording), and price trackers list $9 and $29 as the monthly prices. Rytr’s page does not print the monthly figures, so treat those two as unconfirmed by Rytr. Unlimited is the plan for one writer; Free suits trying it.

Unlimited$7.50 a monthUnlimited150 a month1
Premium$24.16 a monthUnlimitedMultiple100 a month35+

Unlimited doubles the character input limit and Premium triples it. The feature list also shows a Chrome extension, 20+ preset tones of voice, community access, custom use cases and priority support, but the text we read does not show which plan gets which. The FAQ says prices are in USD with an exchange rate applied at purchase, that annual plans save 20 percent and carry a 12-month commitment, and that you own the content you generate, subject to Rytr’s terms.

Our arithmetic

  • $7.50 a month is $90 a year; $24.16 a month is $289.92 a year. Two months free is 16.7 percent off ($90 against $108 for Unlimited), while the FAQ says annual plans save 20 percent; the two statements do not agree, so confirm the total at checkout. The FAQ also says annual plans carry a 12-month commitment.
  • Premium costs 3.2 times Unlimited; the extra buys multiple tone matches, 35+ languages and double the plagiarism checks.

Who it suits, who should skip

  • Suits a solo writer who wants unlimited short-form drafts cheaply: the Unlimited plan.
  • Suits Premium for a freelancer writing across several brands or languages.
  • Skip if you need long-form quality or research: a general assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude does more. Compare QuillBot if you mostly rewrite existing text.

What this page cannot tell you

Output quality and how the tone matching works are not on a pricing page and we have not judged them. Earlier text called it the best budget writer and cited 35-plus templates; we could not source either.

Method

Researched from Rytr’s pricing page, read 29 Sep 2026 in a browser session. USD as displayed. Nothing here comes from using the product.

Update log

  1. Rewritten from Rytr's pricing page: removed 'best budget AI writer', '35+ templates at $9 a month' and 'perfect for solopreneurs'; replaced with the three plans (Free, Unlimited $7.50, Premium $24.16), limits and the unresolved billing basis.
  2. Audit: displayed prices identified as yearly-equivalent ($90 and $290 a year); the 2-months-free versus 20 percent mismatch worked through.
