Best AI writing tools for marketing

There is no single best. On the pricing pages read on 29 Sep 2026, the choice splits by team size: one person on a budget should look at Rytr ($7.50 a month billed annually) or Jasper Pro (one seat, $59 to $69); a small team sharing one chat writer fits Copy.ai Chat (five seats, $24 to $29); and a marketer who mainly wants to track brand mentions in AI answers is being sold Writesonic (from $79 a month billed annually). Copy.ai’s higher tiers are workflow software for sales teams, not writing tools.

The price of a seat, side by side

Our division of the vendors’ own numbers; it ignores usage limits, which differ in kind.

Tool and planMonthly billingAnnual billing (per month)Seats statedPer seat, annual
Rytr UnlimitedNot read (see note)$7.501$7.50
Jasper Pro$69$591$59.00
Copy.ai Chat$29$245$4.80
Writesonic StarterAbout $99 (implied, not read directly)$791 user$79.00
Copy.ai GrowthAnnual only$1,00075$13.33

Two cautions follow from that table. The Copy.ai Chat seat price is low because the plan is a chat assistant, and the workflow credits of the Growth tier are a separate product. And Writesonic’s $79 buys tracking and audits along with articles, so its price per article (about $5.27 at the full 15-article allowance) is a ceiling, not the cost of an article.

Where the price reading goes wrong

  • Annual versus monthly. Rytr and Writesonic show the annual-billing per-month price. Rytr’s page says two months free on yearly, so its monthly price is probably $9, which we infer and did not read. Writesonic’s displayed $79 is annual; its savings label implies about $99 monthly.
  • Old lists. Many roundups still quote a Jasper Creator plan or a Copy.ai free plan and an Agents plan at $249. None appeared on the vendors’ pages when checked, so none is shown here.
  • Ownership. Fullcast announced it acquired Copy.ai on 15 Oct 2025 (see the Copy.ai review), which is why its pricing now targets go-to-market teams.

Full plan tables, with each tool’s stated limits and check date, are in the pricing tracker. Head-to-head arithmetic for two of them is in Jasper vs Copy.ai.

What no pricing page can tell you

Output quality, brand-voice accuracy and editing time are not on any vendor page, and we have not measured them. Two useful checks before paying: run your real briefs through a free trial (Jasper offers 7 days) and ask what a draft costs you to fix. Also read what Google says about AI-written pages before publishing at volume, since the risk is scale without value, not the writing tool.

Method

Researched from the four vendors’ pricing pages, checked 29 Sep 2026 (Jasper, Copy.ai and Writesonic were re-used from the wave 1 review reads of the same day). Prices are USD list prices. Seat divisions are our arithmetic. We do not test writing quality; this page is a cost and limits comparison.
