Copy.ai review

Published Updated By AIHunterLabs editorial

Compiled from vendor pricing pages, checked .

Copy.ai is no longer a cheap copy generator with a free tier. Its pricing page on 29 Sep 2026 shows a $29 a month Chat plan for five seats, then three workflow tiers at $1,000, $2,000 and $3,000 a month billed annually, then Enterprise. If you want a writing assistant for one or two people, this is a chat plan among many; if you want automated go-to-market workflows for a sales team, the top tiers are the product.

What changed: ownership and positioning

On 15 Oct 2025 Fullcast, a revenue-operations software company, announced it had acquired Copy.ai. Copy.ai’s own announcement describes the aim as one platform that links planning and execution, and its pricing page now lists a Fullcast support address. The product is aimed at go-to-market teams (prospecting, account research, outbound and content workflows) more than at individual copywriters. Third-party review sites written before and after the deal still describe it in both ways, so check the date on anything you read. Several of them also list an “Agents” plan at $249 a month; that plan did not appear on the vendor’s pricing page when we checked.

The arithmetic below uses only the figures in that table. The per-seat and per-credit numbers are our own division, not vendor claims.

PlanPriceSeatsPer seat per monthWorkflow creditsCredits per dollar
Chat (annual)$24 a month5$4.80none statednot applicable
Chat (monthly)$29 a month5$5.80none statednot applicable
Growth$1,000 a month75$13.3320K20
Expansion$2,000 a month150$13.3345K22.5
Scale$3,000 a month200$15.0075K25

Two things stand out. Seat cost barely rises across the workflow tiers, so the real choice is how many credits you need. And credit price improves only modestly with size: Scale gives 25% more credits per dollar than Growth.

The unknown: what one workflow costs

Copy.ai defines a workflow credit as computational power needed to run the tasks in a workflow, such as generating content, doing internet research or scanning websites. It does not publish a credits-per-workflow figure on the pricing page. So no honest cost per lead, per email or per article can be given here. Before committing to a $12,000 annual plan, ask for the credit cost of your own workflow and treat any per-output figure from a reviewer as an estimate. Unused-credit rules are also not stated on the pricing page.

Where the older claims stand

This page used to say Copy.ai had a generous free plan and the fastest generation of any writing tool. Neither is on the vendor’s pricing page now, and we cannot back a speed ranking, so both were removed. Copy.ai’s acquisition post still mentions a 2,000 free words a month tier, but the pricing page does not list a free plan, so confirm before relying on it.

Compared with the alternatives

  • Jasper charges per seat ($69 monthly, $59 annual) and centres on brand voice; see Jasper vs Copy.ai for the side-by-side.
  • Writesonic has moved to AI-search visibility tracking with articles attached.
  • All three appear in the pricing tracker with the same dating rules.

Method

Researched from Copy.ai’s pricing page and blog and the Fullcast press release; checked 29 Sep 2026. Nothing here comes from using the product. Prices are USD list prices; the per-seat and per-credit columns are our arithmetic.
