Ideogram review

Published Updated By AIHunterLabs editorial

Compiled from vendor pages and public sources, checked .

Ideogram sells priority credits and gives unlimited slow credits on paid plans. On 29 Sep 2026 the pricing page showed Plus at $20 a month with 1,000 priority credits and Pro at $60 with 3,500, with yearly billing at $15 and $42 a month ($180 and $504 billed annually). Both figures are shown by the page’s own Monthly and Yearly toggle. Paid plans generate privately; by default images are public. The FAQ says Ideogram claims no ownership of your images and you may use them commercially.

Cost per credit

Our division; priority credits only, allowance fully used. Prices are those the pricing page shows on its Monthly and Yearly toggles ($20 and $60 monthly; $15 and $42 a month when billed yearly as $180 and $504).

PlanMonthlyYearly (per month)CreditsPer 1,000 credits, monthlyYearly
Plus$20$151,000$20.00$15.00
Pro$60$423,500$17.14$12.00

Extra priority credits can be topped up (“for $4” on the card; the credit amount was not in the text we could read). Unused subscription credits expire at the end of the billing cycle; top-up credits carry over. When priority credits run out you fall back to the slow queue, where AI editing features such as Editing with AI and Image Reference are not available.

Privacy and rights

By default every Ideogram image is published to the community gallery; Plus and Pro subscribers can generate unpublished images and unpublish earlier ones. The FAQ says Ideogram does not claim ownership of generated images and that you may use them for any purpose, including commercial. The full terms are separate and were not read, and the pricing page states no indemnification. The FAQ says there are no discounts or free trials for subscription plans (yearly billing is the price cut, shown on the toggle).

What the pricing page cannot answer

How well Ideogram renders text inside images, or how its output compares with others, is not on the pricing page, and we have not assessed it; look for independent, named comparisons and try the free credits on your own prompts. Credits per image depend on model and rendering settings and are loaded dynamically on the page, so we did not record them. Compare terms and prices with the others in best AI image generators; see also Midjourney and Flux.

Method

Researched from Ideogram’s pricing page and FAQ, read 29 Sep 2026 in a browser session (re-checked with both billing toggles by the audit) (the page blocks automated fetchers). USD list prices; per-credit figures are our division. Nothing here comes from using the product.

Update log

  1. Rewritten from the pricing page and its FAQ: removed the unsourced text-rendering claims and old price statements; added plan limits, cost per 1,000 credits and the private-generation and commercial-use answers.
