Relay.app review

Published Updated By AIHunterLabs editorial

Researched from vendor pages and public sources, checked .

Relay.app is no longer available. Its homepage on 29 Sep 2026 reads “Relay.app has shut down” and states: “Relay.app shut down in September 2026. All accounts, workflows, and run history have been permanently deleted.” The notice adds that the July 2026 version of the homepage is preserved on the Internet Archive. If you were considering it for approval-gated automation, you need another tool; this page lists the ones we review and what to check.

The plan prices in our June review (Starter $29, Team $59) are removed: they cannot be bought.

If you wanted human approval steps

Relay.app was built around approval gates in automation. Nothing in a shutdown notice tells us which alternative matches it feature for feature, so check each for how it handles a person approving a step before the workflow continues:

  • Make and Zapier are general automation tools; look for their approval or manual step options.
  • n8n can be self-hosted, which avoids dependence on a vendor staying in business.
  • Lindy and Gumloop build AI agents rather than fixed sequences.

What this page cannot tell you

Why it shut down, whether the team or product moved elsewhere, and whether any export was offered. The notice says data was permanently deleted and says nothing more.

Method

Researched from relay.app, read 29 Sep 2026 in a browser. Nothing here comes from using the product.

Update log

  1. Rewritten: relay.app now shows a shutdown notice, so the June review (approval gates, Starter $29, Team $59, Enterprise) no longer describes a product that can be bought; all recommendations and plan prices removed. Kept as a notice so existing links and searches land on the answer.
