Veo is Google’s video model, and the price you can read is the developer price. On 29 Sep 2026 the Gemini API pricing page listed Veo 3.1 in three tiers, paid tier only: Standard at $0.40 a second for 720p and 1080p ($0.60 at 4K), Fast at $0.10 (720p), $0.12 (1080p) or $0.30 (4K), and Lite at $0.05 (720p) or $0.08 (1080p), with no 4K. The prices are for video with audio. A five-second 1080p clip is therefore $2.00 on Standard, $0.60 on Fast and $0.40 on Lite. The free tier is marked not available for Veo.
Cost of a clip
Our multiplication of the per-second price; charged only for videos successfully generated, per the page.

Prices are per second in USD on the paid tier. Model names on the page: veo-3.1-generate-preview, veo-3.1-fast-generate-preview and veo-3.1-lite-generate-preview; the “preview” in those names means Google may change them.

What the pricing page cannot answer
Consumer access to Veo through Google’s apps and subscriptions was not read for this page, so only the API price is given. Motion quality, character consistency and prompt following are not on a pricing page and we have not assessed them. Google’s page also says that on the free tier content is used to improve its products, and on the paid tier it is not; this applies to the API. Related: Runway, Kling, and the Sora alternatives page.
Method
Researched from Google’s Gemini API pricing page, read 29 Sep 2026 in a browser session. USD list prices; per-clip figures are our multiplication. Nothing here comes from using the product.
