Notion AI review

Compiled from vendor pages and public sources, checked .

Notion’s AI is not listed as a separate add-on on its pricing page. On 29 Sep 2026 the page listed Notion Agent (chat, generate, autofill, translate), AI Meeting Notes and Enterprise Search under the Business plan, with only a “limited trial” of AI on Free and Plus. Business was $20 a member a month billed yearly ($24 monthly) with the page’s currency selector set to USD (EUR 19.50 and 23.50 in a Netherlands session). Custom Agents are free to try, then $10 per 1,000 Notion credits. If you want AI in Notion, plan for Business.

Prices are per member per month. Dollar figures are what the page shows when its “Price in” selector is switched from EUR to USD; euro figures are what a Dutch visitor sees by default. Custom Agents and the Workers developer platform (beta) need credits on paid plans; the page prices credits at $10 per 1,000.

What the comparison shows

  • On Free and Plus, the AI rows in the comparison table read “Limited Trial”, so the pricing page does not describe a usable allowance there.
  • Moving from Plus to Business costs $10 more a member a month on yearly billing ($20 minus $10; EUR 10 on the euro page), and that step is where the agent, meeting notes and enterprise search appear.
  • Data retention with LLM providers is 30 days on every plan except Enterprise, which is zero.

Who it suits, who should skip

  • Suits teams that already keep their docs and databases in Notion and want search and drafting inside the same workspace.
  • Skip if only one person needs AI: a stand-alone assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude may cost less than a Business seat and does not require moving your notes.
  • Look at Granola if your need is meeting notes rather than a workspace agent.

What this page cannot tell you

How good the answers are, and how many credits a custom agent burns per run, are not on the pricing page and we have not measured them. Earlier text called workspace Q&A “transformative”; that was opinion we could not source and it is removed.

Method

Researched from Notion’s pricing page on 29 Sep 2026, with the Pay monthly and Pay yearly modes both read. Currency selector read in both EUR and USD. Nothing here comes from using the product.

Update log

  1. Rewritten from Notion's pricing page: removed 'best workspace AI', 'Q&A across your workspace is transformative' and the old add-on price; recorded that full Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes and Enterprise Search are listed on the Business plan while Free and Plus show a limited trial, and that Custom Agents use credits at $10 per 1,000.
  2. Audit: read the page's currency selector in USD (Plus $10 yearly, $12 monthly; Business $20, $24) and added dollar figures beside the euros.
